Weekend Warriors

The hubby and I had a busy weekend with the boys. For those of you who may not follow the mundane details of my life in Surburbia, the boys are: my stepson age 11, and my two cousins age 10 and 6. They are quite the characters, and present a source of comic relief. There are all a huge part of my life, and a constant reminder that you don't have to give birth to be somebody's Mama.
Years ago, I would have spent my weekends ripping and running through the streets of DC, only to make it back Monday morning right before work. These days I am sitting at the house preparing meals, and being entertained by the little one's rendition of 'La Cucaracha, The Hip-Hop version'.
Although I sometimes miss my 'Single and Free' days, it is All Good in the Hood. I LOVE our crazy weekends together. I love the fact that you can hear the laughter outside before you even reach the driveway; I love the fact that my husband and I laugh about the fact that even when we get rid of the kids, we still don't always indulge in Hanky Panky cuz we are TOO DAMN TIRED! Its hilarious, and I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather do this with. Life with kids ain't so bad in Surburbia when you have a great husband and a good glass of Pinot.

--or two. Or twenty-two!

My old apartment was located near a cul-de-sac, where lots of kids played. It was great listening to them. I miss that.

Hope you have a great week!

The key word in this entire post is "Pinot". LOL That's how I make it through the ruff times :)

Yes, my goal is to allow the boys to have fun, but also to allow me to Survive! I think that's a job for a nice, subtle Red
